An improved daily weather generator for the assessment of regional climate change impacts

چکیده
Weather generators (WGs) are one of the major downscaling tools for assessing regional climate change impacts. However, some deficiencies in performance WGs have limited their usage. This paper presents a method correcting low-frequency variability (LFV) precipitation improved weather generator (IWG) model. The is based on bias correction monthly distribution generated daily series. modified model was tested directly by comparing statistics and observed data 14 stations, also indirectly characteristics simulated stream-flows basin from simulation run data. results showed that not only corrected LFV but reproduction many other statistics. provided IWG2 can serve as useful tool general circulation (GCM) scenarios to assess impacts, especially hydrological effects.

A daily weather generator for use in climate change studies
This paper describes the development of a weather generator for use in climate impact assessments of agricultural and water system management. The generator produces internally consistent series of meteorological variables including: rainfall, temperature, humidity, wind, sunshine, as well as derivation of potential evapotranspiration. The system produces series at a daily time resolution, usin...

We simulate the effect of climate change on water requirements of cold seasonwheat in various climatic zones of Iran. The research considers both observedclimate (temperature and precipitation) changes during recent decades (1960-2009)based on instrumental records and projected future changes to 2100 based on theMAGICC/SCENGEN 5.3 compound model. 20 General Circulation models are usedbased on a...

متن کاملSDSM - a decision support tool for the assessment of regional climate change impacts
General Circulation Models (GCMs) suggest that rising concentrations of greenhouse gases will have significant implications for climate at global and regional scales. Less certain is the extent to which meteorological processes at individual sites will be affected. So-called ‘downscaling’ techniques are used to bridge the spatial and temporal resolution gaps between what climate modellers are c...
